A five-year-old boy was admitted for tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy. Inhalation induction was performed with halothane (Fluothane), and one asleep what was given succinylcholine (Anectine) (SCh)

 He was apneic within 30 seconds, and the anesthetic mixture containing 99% oxygen was given for total for minutes before laryngoscopy was attempted.
