A 38 year-old woman was admitted to same-day surgery for bladder dilation required for treatment of interstitial cystitis.

 Note: Bladder dilation is extremely painful, but postoperative pain is usually negligible. Early recovery and dismissal are important (largely from an economic standpoint).
